Playstation 4 (All Models)

  • HDMI Port Replacement…………………………………………$90

Requires a full system teardown for proper access and replacement of the connection port. A new HDMI Port will be soldered onto the board. All soldering flux will then be removed by cleaning the board with 99% industrial or medical grade ISP. Since the heatsink must be removed for the replacement I will remove the old thermal paste and apply new before assembling the console. This service is labor intensive and can take up to a week depending on my workload.

  • Hard Drive Replacement (Seagate 1TB)……………..$100

This is an easy task and the majority of the expense is for the hard drive itself. I will install replace the existing hard drive with a brand new one and reinstall the system software. All existing data will be lost unless there is a request to attempt to save the data. Depending on the condition of the drive this may not be possible. If another hard drive is preferred the cost will be adjusted accordingly.

  • No image on screen – “white light of death”…….$120

There are many reasons the console may not display an image on the screen. If the HDMI port is not damaged and cords are all working and securely plugged in it is likely that one of the surface mounted IC’s have gone bad. Much of the cost for this service is for the labor intensive diagnostics. Once I identify what has failed I will replace the component with a new one. Since the heatsink must be removed for the replacement I will remove the old thermal paste and apply new before assembling the console. This service time varies depending on the availability of new parts.

Xbox One (“One S” and “One X”)

Unlike Sony, Microsoft did not design their consoles for an easy replacement. I will need to partially disassemble the console in order to replace the hard drive. The hard drive will be formatted with the proper partitions and the system software will be loaded onto the drive before reinstalling it into the system. All existing data will be lost unless there is a request to attempt to save the data. Depending on the condition of the drive this may not be possible. If another hard drive is preferred the cost will be adjusted accordingly.
